Same-Day Dental (CEREC)
Wait No More: Get Same-Day Crowns with CEREC
Dental crowns are an excellent way of protecting teeth that are badly damaged or weakened. Our dentists might suggest a crown if a tooth has substantial decay, has received root canal therapy, or if a portion has been damaged or cracked. Crowns can also cover up misaligned or oddly shaped teeth creating a more cosmetically pleasing appearance. A crown covers up the entire tooth, which restores its strength and structure as well as your ability to smile and to eat comfortably.
In the past, having a dental crown meant at least two visits to Apple Dental, plus the need for a temporary crown. This is why we are so pleased to offer our patients same-day crowns.
CEREC crowns are made while you wait, so you will only need a single appointment. Instead of taking an impression of your tooth, information is captured using a special scanner and is transmitted to a computer. Your dentist uses CAD/CAM technology to design your crown before it is milled on-site from a solid block of high quality porcelain. Your precision-made crown is hand finished before being fitted and cemented in place so you will leave our practice with your smile fully restored.

What Are Dental Crowns Made From?
We use premium quality materials, including advanced porcelains that closely replicate the liveliness and translucency of natural teeth. Each crown is carefully crafted to create a natural appearance so it will blend in seamlessly with your existing teeth. Conventional crowns are made in a dental laboratory and require at least two appointments, but Apple Dental provides you with the option of CEREC crowns which are made using the latest CAD/CAM technology in just one visit.
What are the Advantages of CEREC Crowns?
CEREC crowns are strong and beautiful, offering maximum protection for your tooth. There is no need for a temporary tooth and no need for a dental impression. Patients who have a strong gag reflex will find the process much more comfortable. It can be an ideal solution when you need a new crown in a hurry, perhaps for a special event or a holiday.
Frequently asked questions
CEREC crowns are made from solid blocks of porcelain using the very latest CADCAM technology. These high-quality crowns are precision-made, providing an extremely accurate fit. To make a CEREC crown, our dentist will prepare your tooth in the normal way, but from then on the procedure is rather different. Instead of taking a dental impression, your tooth will be scanned using a small camera. Our dentist will use the scan to design and make your crown while you wait. Once the crown has been made, it will be hand-finished before being tried in and fitted, so you will leave with your new restoration firmly cemented in place.
