apple-4-1Wisdom teeth often cause problems which is why the dentists here at Apple Dental will keep a close eye on their development. Some dentists may take out perfectly healthy wisdom teeth as a precaution, but we prefer to take a wait-and-see approach. If it is obvious they cannot come through properly, then we will recommend you have them removed.

When Is It Necessary to Remove Wisdom Teeth?

Dental x-rays can show us the position of your wisdom teeth so we can determine if they need to come out. We will recommend taking them out if they are likely to damage other teeth. Badly impacted wisdom teeth can damage crowns, bridges and other dental work and may undo the effects of orthodontics. Other problems that can be caused by wisdom teeth include inflamed gums, as the tissue around this area can swell up and may be hard to keep clean. There is also a risk that cysts could develop in the jawbone surrounding your wisdom teeth.

If you do you need to your wisdom teeth removed then there is no need to be concerned as we will make sure you are kept completely comfortable during this procedure.
