1In August of this year the Government decided to close the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) covering basic dental services for children aged 2-17 years and replace it with a Child and Adult Public Dental Scheme. The legislation has still to be agreed by Parliament, but once this happens eligible children will need to receive dental treatment before the 1st of January next year. Claims for benefits can still be submitted after this date, provided the work was carried out before the 1st of January. If passed by the Parliament, dental benefits will not be paid under this scheme for any work carried out past this date.

Claiming Benefits Before the CDBS Closes

If your child still has some benefits remaining under the CDBS, please contact us so we can arrange for any outstanding treatment to be carried out. The total benefit is capped at $1,000 over a two year period, so if you think your child may qualify for this scheme, it is worth taking action before it closes for good.
